Hey friends,
I just wanted to post my message into the allies- board, but the "old" password didn´t match. So I ask u for the pw now and ask you for some help with my w- lan.
Few weeks ago my friend and I got a letter from my DSL- provider that something is wrong with our dsl- account. If we didn´t change that we had to pay much more than we did until now. So we called the service number and the guy there told us how to change the WLan- things.
But now I can not host games anymore. You can see them in the lobby but you cannot join and I don´t even get a message "player .... is joining...".
Now I heard about something with "Port Redirection" or "forwarding" or something, I googled for those words and found port numbers to change in the wlan- installation. I changed - but nothing happened.
If anyone could help me with that problem I would be really really REALLY glad. My WLan- Router is a Siemens Se 515 DSL.
Thanks,
Stef

check and see if ur router has this on it DMZ but ur comps ports will all be open and you wont be running behind a fire wall anymore but it's only a temp fix if does work DMZ: This is a feature that is included on some routers but is not in Internet sharing software. A DMZ allows a single computer on your LAN to expose ALL of its ports to the Internet. When doing this, the exposed computer is no longer ‘behind’ the firewall. Port Forwarding vs DMZ A DMZ is far easier to set up than port forwarding but exposes your entire computer to the Internet. Sometimes TCP/IP applications require very specialized IP configurations that are difficult to set up or are not supported by your router. In this case, placing your computer in the DMZ is the only way to get the application working. Placing a computer in the DMZ should be considered ‘temporary’ because your firewall is no longer able to provide any security to it. In order to host a DFTFD server you need to forward port 17478 to the computer which you are using as a server. this port number was got off web site hope it helps

In order to host a DFTFD server you need to forward port 17478 to the computer which you are using as a server. this port number was got off web site hope it helps Hi Rappy, thank you for your explanations. THere is one more question: where do I have to type in that numbers? In the Router menu there is no room for such a number. there is something like 1234-5678, twice, but no "12345" as you said.... See you, Stef

I don´t know how and why but all the summary of your help finally worked! Hansoon (from df.hansoon.de ) took a lot of time to help me and we tried different things together, so that I am not sure WHAT finally worked. But it works. You can find the new EU- Squad server in TFD or LW, server name is "EU- Squad". I hope to see many many many players there. We also have babstats now on the servers I run. If anyone who is able to host for EU wants to upload babstats, too please send me IM or mail or something, then I will guide you in. It´s quite easy. Have fun, here is a party going on! Cat
